Pumps, Valves & Fluid Handling Equipment
Skid- and trailer-mounted pump sets, valve bodies and bonnets modelled from 2D, centrifugal separator bowls and spindles, pump gear drives and motor canopies: equipment where a cast body, a rotating assembly and a fabricated frame all have to be documented for different suppliers. We produce the models and drawings each of them needs.

Castings, rotating parts and skids, each drawn for its maker
Fluid-handling equipment mixes three kinds of engineering in one product. The valve body or pump casing is a casting with a machined flow path, so it needs pattern geometry and machining drawings that agree. The spindle, impeller or plug is a rotating or sealing part that lives or dies on runout and surface finish. And the skid, trailer or canopy is a fabrication with its own weld shop. We model all three in one assembly and issue the drawings each supplier works from.
Recent work includes a 4.7 m skid-mounted diesel pump set and its trailer-mounted variant for a UK client, a DN250 Class 150 bellow-seal globe valve rebuilt in 3D for a valve manufacturer, separator bowl and spindle assemblies, an epicyclic pump gear drive and pump-motor canopies for a process plant.
Typical scope
- Pump skids and trailer units: base frames, lifting frames, tanks, guards, engine and pump mounting
- Valve bodies, bonnets, plugs and stems from 2D drawings, with flange drilling to the standard
- Rotating assemblies: spindles, bowls, impellers and gear drives with runout and fit controls
- Pump gear drives and couplings sized and detailed with bearing life and seals
- Sheet-metal canopies, guards and enclosures with flat patterns
- Fabrication drawings for skid frames and lifting arrangements
Standards we draw to in this sector
- BS 8888 / ISO GPS tolerancing with runout on rotating parts
- Flange dimensions as specified on the maker's drawings
- ISO 2553 weld symbols on skid and frame fabrications
- Client numbering and templates for sub-assemblies
What you receive
- Structured native assemblies with numbered sub-assemblies
- Casting and machining drawings for bodies and bonnets
- Part drawings for spindles, plugs and stems with fits and finish
- Weldment and sheet-metal drawings with flat patterns
- STEP, PDF and delivery note per issue

Pumps, Valves & Fluid Handling case studies
Every project below was delivered by our engineers; client names are shown where we have permission and withheld under NDA otherwise.

Subsea Insulation Covers and Moulding Tooling in Inventor
Subsea flowline insulation shrouds and an insulation cover designed in Autodesk Inventor for an offshore systems manufacturer — 38 assemblies and 277 parts covering inner and outer pipe pups, weld preparations, coating layers and the two-part moulding tools (base plate and core, cavity, fill plate, inserts, vent plate) on A1 drawings.

HD4K Trailer-Mounted Pump Unit with Tandem Axles
Trailer-mounted variant of a heavy-duty pump set — 3.5 t towing, tandem axles rated 4 t, UB portal, RHS hood posts, sheet-metal hood and guards, engine and pump — built as a fully mated SolidWorks assembly with structural and GA concepts and an R4 drawing set.

DN250 Class 150 Bellow-Seal Globe Valve: 2D to 3D
Body, bonnet, plug and stem of a 250 NB class 150 Y-type bellow-seal globe valve modelled in SolidWorks from the valve maker's 2D drawings, with flange drilling to the standard, machining allowances and a mated assembly for the maker's catalogue and manufacturing.

Centrifugal Separator Bowl & Spindle Assemblies
Bowl, bowl hood, distributor, top disc and spindle assemblies of an industrial disc-stack centrifugal separator rebuilt as parametric SolidWorks models from supplier 2D drawings and STEP data, with manufacturing drawings for local production.

Epicyclic Pump Gear Drive
Vertical epicyclic gear drive for a pump — internal ring gear and planet set inside a ribbed housing, driven from an offset motor mount.

Pump Motor Canopies for a Process Plant
Weather canopies for cooling-tower and feed/CIP pump motors in a process plant — sheet-metal roofs, legs, covers and wire-mesh guards — designed in SolidWorks with flat patterns, DXFs and fabrication drawings carrying the customer's title block.
