Our Services

Reverse Engineering Services

Turn a physical part into accurate, production-ready CAD — reverse engineering for legacy machinery, obsolete spares and components that were never documented in the first place.

Service Overview

Reverse Engineering

Reverse engineering involves studying a product through 3D scanning, capturing its geometry, and then rebuilding and optimising the existing design to your requirements. It's the go-to route when a drawing doesn't exist, is out of date, or the original manufacturer is no longer available.

The output is never just a static mesh — we hand you a fully-featured, editable parametric CAD model you can actually maintain and modify going forward.

  • 3D scan data cleanup and alignment
  • Point-cloud to parametric CAD conversion
  • Legacy part recreation without original drawings
  • Spare-part reproduction for obsolete components
  • Geometry validation against the original scan
  • Design improvement recommendations where relevant

FAQ

Common Questions

Do you perform the 3D scan, or work from scan data we provide?
We work from scan data (point cloud/mesh) supplied by you or your scanning partner, and can also advise on scan setup to get clean, usable data.
How accurate is the resulting CAD model?
We validate the rebuilt model against the source scan and report deviation, so you know exactly how closely the CAD matches the physical part.
Can you improve the design while reverse engineering it?
Yes — many clients use reverse engineering as an opportunity to fix a known weak point or update a part for a new manufacturing process.
