Native CAD Platform

SolidWorks Design & Drafting Services

Native SolidWorks parts, assemblies and drawings from engineers who work in it every day — sheet metal and weldment modules, configurations and design tables, Toolbox hardware, drawings with GD&T, saved to the version your team runs and checked in cleanly to your PDM. SolidWorks is the platform most of our portfolio was built in.

Working In SolidWorks

Our Primary Platform, Used On Most Of Our Projects

SolidWorks is where the majority of our gearbox, machine, fabrication and reverse-engineering work has been delivered, so the habits that make a SolidWorks model useful to the next engineer — a deliberate feature tree, fully defined sketches, equations and design tables instead of magic numbers, mates that survive a change — are standard practice rather than a special request.

We model in the module the part belongs to: sheet metal parts as sheet metal (with your gauge table and K-factor), frames as weldments (with cut lists from your profile library), and families as configurations driven by design tables so one file serves many variants.

  • Part, assembly and drawing documents; top-down and bottom-up assembly design
  • Sheet Metal with gauge tables, bend tables and flat-pattern DXF export
  • Weldments with custom structural profiles and cut lists
  • Configurations, design tables and equations for part families
  • Toolbox and standard hardware; custom properties for BOMs and PDM
  • Drawings with GD&T, tables, revision blocks and your sheet formats; SolidWorks Simulation for first-pass checks (detailed FEA in Ansys)

Native files we deliver

SLDPRT · SLDASM · SLDDRW

Plus STEP AP214/AP242, IGES, Parasolid, DXF and PDF for anyone outside SolidWorks.

Versions

We save to the exact SolidWorks version you run (recent releases and earlier). Files cannot be saved backwards natively, so tell us your version before work starts; where you run a newer release than ours we supply a STEP alongside.

Handover to your PDM

File names, custom properties, materials, revision and configuration names follow your scheme so files check in to SolidWorks PDM or your vault without rework. Pack and Go is used for assemblies so references stay intact.

Translation & Limits

What Travels, And What Does Not

Native SolidWorks files carry the full feature tree, configurations, sheet metal and weldment data. Exporting to STEP or Parasolid keeps geometry but drops features, configurations and bend data; we export AP242 where PMI needs to travel.

Models from Inventor, Creo, Solid Edge or NX can be imported as solids and, where you need an editable model, rebuilt as native SolidWorks features — a service we quote as conversion rather than a free translation.

Drawings do not translate between CAD platforms; when you migrate to SolidWorks we regenerate drawings from the native model rather than converting DWG views.

Standards

Drawn To Your Market's Standard

  • ASME Y14.5-2018 (R2024) for North American drawings
  • ISO GPS (ISO 1101, ISO 8015, ISO 22081) and BS 8888:2025 for ISO markets
  • AWS A2.4:2020 or ISO 2553:2019 weld symbols
  • Your own template, title block, layers and properties

FAQ

SolidWorks Questions

Which SolidWorks version will I receive?
Whichever you specify. We confirm your version in the quote and save to it; assemblies are delivered with Pack and Go so references resolve on your side.
Do you use our sheet metal gauge tables and bend tables?
Yes — send them and we install them for your job so flat patterns match your press brake.
Can you work with our custom profile library for weldments?
Yes. We use your weldment profiles and cut-list properties so frames match your stock and your BOM format.
Will the models be fully defined and change-safe?
Fully defined sketches, named features, equations and design tables where a family exists, and mates chosen so a dimension change does not break the assembly. We review the tree before delivery.
Can you convert our Inventor or Creo files into native SolidWorks?
Yes, as a conversion job: geometry is rebuilt as native features with a sensible tree, not left as an imported dumb solid. See our CAD conversion service.
Do you run SolidWorks Simulation?
For first-pass checks, yes. Detailed structural, thermal and CFD studies are done in Ansys and reported with assumptions and margins.

Need SolidWorks Work Done This Week?

Send the files or the brief. You get a fixed quote and a date, usually within one business day, and native SolidWorks files back.
