A custom medical machine developed from concept to production-ready design, where cleanability and reliability drive decisions that cost and speed would drive elsewhere.
A different design environment
Medical equipment is designed against priorities that industrial machinery does not share. Surfaces have to be cleanable, mechanisms have to be reliable in a way that tolerates no unplanned stoppage, and the machine has to be safe to be near while it operates. These are not features added at the end — they shape the layout from the beginning.
Cleanable by design
The enclosure was designed to reduce the places contamination can collect: fewer external fasteners, radiused internal corners rather than sharp ones, and panel joints arranged so they can be wiped rather than needing to be dismantled.
Serviceability without full teardown
Components that need periodic attention were placed where they can be reached through access panels, so routine service does not require stripping the machine. Equipment that is difficult to service tends not to be serviced, and in a clinical setting that is a real risk rather than an inconvenience.
What was delivered
A full machine assembly, enclosure and sheet metal drawings, mechanism detail drawings, and a bill of materials.
