- Pressure plate and clutch plate drawings, reference parts
The challenge
The existing clutch worked, but its documentation was a set of drawings from different sources with inconsistent datums, and a proposed centre-pin modification could not be evaluated without a complete model. The goal was one coherent assembly from which both variants could be drawn and from which the housing could be checked for clearance.
Our approach
The pressure plate and clutch plate were modelled exactly to the supplied drawings, the flywheel and housing from reference parts and measurements, and the diaphragm, release bearing and fasteners from catalogue data. The main assembly was built with the clutch engaged and released as configurations so the release travel and clearances could be checked.
The centre-pin variant was created as a second top-level assembly sharing all common parts, and the drawing set was issued with a common part numbering so the shop builds either variant from the same drawings plus one variant sheet.
What was delivered
Final data was delivered as native SolidWorks and STEP for both variants with a complete drawing set, giving the client a single source for the clutch package and a documented basis for the centre-pin design decision.
- Main assembly with engaged/released configurations
- Centre-pin variant assembly
- Manufacturing drawings for pressure plate, flywheel and housing
- STEP exports
Standards and conventions applied
- ISO GPS datums consistent across the assembly
- ISO 2768 general tolerances
